Analysis Details

  • Exclusive reconstruction of the pbar p -> Ds Ds0(2317) (might be an efficiency problem)
  • Inclusive reconstruction of the recoiling Ds
  • Determine the production cross section of this reaction by performing an energy scan in the threshold region (real data only!)
  • Determine the width of Ds0(2317) from the shape of the excitation function

  • Target of physics booklet analysis
    • reconstruct signal events in either way given above and determine efficiency
    • determine background level with DPM events (maybe chosen explicit bkg channels...)
    • assume particular signal cross section for signal/bkg
    • simulate the measurement of excitation function (appropriately mix constant bkg with expected number of signals and fit the signal)
    • determine, how much data taking needed to exctract width with 3 σ significance

Decay Modes

D*s0(2317) -> Ds π0

Ds -> Φ π+ (+c.c.)

Φ -> K+ K-

π0 -> γ γ

Background Channels

  • DPM
  • non-resonant pbar p -> DsDsπ0
