Decay Modes

  • production at 15 GeV beam momentum: pp→ψgη
  • assume ψg mass m=4290MeV and width Γ=20MeV
  • Channel 1: Ψg → χc10 π0)s-wave
    • Χc1 → J/Ψ γ
    • J/Ψ → e+ e- (50%), J/Ψ → μ+ μ- (50%)
    • π0, η → γ γ
  • Summary: pp → χc10 π0)s-wave η

  • Channel 2: Ψg -> D0 D0*
    • D0* → D0 π0
    • D0 → K- π+ π0
    • π0, η → γ γ
  • Summary: pp → D0 D0*η

Background Channels

  • Channel 1
    • pp → χc00 π0)s-wave η
    • pp → χc10 π0 π0)p-wave η
    • pp → χc10 η)flat η
    • all χcJ decay radiatively
  • Channel 2
    • pp → D0 D0*η, same D-channels as signal channel
      • either 1 additional π0 in D0 decay
      • or 1 additional π0 in D0 decay of the D0* decay
    • pp → D0 D0*π0, same D-channels as signal channel
  • each background channel with equal number of events as the signal channel
