MVD track point simulation

Performance

  • Mechanical model (CAD) as STEP-file
  • CAD converter: STEP-file to Root-format ( TGeoManager )
  • Simulation: MC tracking (Geant4) including B-field and full material budget
  • Particle source: Isotropic, point-like source

Input parameters

  • Particle species: (Proton, Pion +/-, Lambda, ...)
  • Particle energy: [0.1 ... 5.0] GeV
  • Origin of the particle source: 0;0;0) or any displacement
  • Number of events (typically 520,000 -> 14 h for simulation)
  • Polar angle: 2° < Omega < 160°

Analysis

  • Average number of MVD points / track
    • Full MVD / Barrel part (Theta > 45°) / Forward part (Theta < 45°)
      Example: Average number of MVD points / track

  • Spatial distribution (Theta-Phi) of MVD points / track
    • Mapping for all tracks / Mapping only for regions with less then 3 MVD points / track in average
      Example: Spatial distribution for MVDE points / track

  • Angular distribution (Theta) of MVD points / track
    Example: Angular distribution for number of MVD points / track

Output

  • Compare different detector versions
  • Study performance for particle specias at different energies
  • Study performance for differebt particle species, in particular charge conjugated particles
