Minutes of the Forward Endcap EMC Vibe/eZuce meeting, 11th of January 2021, 14:00-15:00

Recheck of Irradiation Simulations and Bonn Calculations:

• Summary: All simulations and calculations correct and in accordance
• Ratio of 10 (0.7 Gy calculated/simulated vs. 7 Gy reading of dosimeter) resulting from small Si-layer in APDs, ICs etc. Dosimeter reading referring to tissue (higher thickness).
• No consequence for APD irradiation expected: APD samples irradiated with way higher doses without effecting operation (gain, dark current)
• To be taken into account when irradiating electronic components!

Submodule Production:

• Next delivery (Thursday this week) submodule transport to Bonn only, FZ Jülich is still in restricted access, start of delivery to Jülich unclear
• Submodule transport handle return from BN with next delivery

SADC crate power supplies:

• Final power supply modules not very sophisticated but efficient (design okay)
• Radiation hardness tests passed
• Drawback: Low switching frequency requires bigger air coils
• Fixing central holes of coil toroids also usable for fixing supplies to cooling flanges
• For thermal tests one should consider 2W/ADC for the final supplies (about 90% efficiency)

Data Concentrators:

• 1st produced module arrived at Uppsala
• Start of testing from next week on
