APD Submodules - LED to APD noise introduction:
New results from Bonn inside a different climate chamber show results close to the ones we got in Bochum. A trip to Bonn therefore was cancelled for the time being.
Noise introduction seems to be tolerable for the different cabling scenarios (shielded, twisted pairs, unshielded) as long as the power supply is not connected. In the experiment later on we might need to galvanically disconnect the supply during data taking.
(In BO twisted pair cabling turned out to be best suitable.)
SADC crate power supplies::
Pawel commented on the latest results from investigations of the power supply failures during the last KVI irradiation tests:
The failing parts turned out to be transistors in the coil drivers
It may be possible to exchange the failing ones with transistors of lower power rating but less radiation susceptibility
The efficiency of the supplies is not as good as expected, need to be investigated
A new beam time is envisaged (either still at KVI or at the Juelich cyclotron test area) in order to (also) test the crate controller electronics
SADC crate design:
A dedicated meeting with Bochum, Bonn, Groningen, and Uppsala people involved was scheduled for Thursday this week.
