Minutes of the forward endcap EMC eZuce SRN meeting, 7th of May 2018, 14:00-15:00 and 16:00-16:45

APD-Preamps:

• Werner so far tested 1500 APD preamps, they are working, data has been taken but not yet analyzed
• Estimated rate of screening is 500 pieces within 3 weeks
• Need to contact Bernd Krusche to clarify who will take over the work when Werner is leaving
• This was probably the last meeting with Werner conributing as he will leave Panda/Basel university - many thanks for the pleasant cooperation over the years and all the best with his new job!

Latest VPTT submodule:

• A lot of discussion about the latest cosmics test stand results of the latest "half and half" VPTT subunit
• The response of the units with indirectly measured preamp gain scatters more than the one derived form the units with well known preamp gain - as expected
• However, there are groups of four each showing up in a plot of light pulser response vs. cosmics stand response, which are supposed to come as an artefact of the sorting algorythm
• We could not fully agree whether the results are fully sufficient to restatrt mass production of VPTT submodules or not
• In the meantime Merlin made a new matching we will use to build in the order of 10 new crystal-read out units arbitrarily chosen from the whole VPTT region and check again
