Minutes of the forward endcap EMC eZuce SRN meeting, 15th of January 2018, 14:00-14:45

Cosmics Measurements in Bonn:

• Christoph presented a refined estimation of the preamp range, that is preamp output signal height vs. deposited energy
• Derived from the cosmics peaks in two crystal-read out units build with preamps of precisely measured gain we get a maximum detectable energy of 12.96 GeV and 13.16 GeV respectively at the maximum of 2.2 V preamp output
• We need to be able to measure 12 GeV energy deposit per channel, so the preamp gains in the combination with crystal light yield and photo detector resonse turn out to be fine (as expected) for both units!

SADCs:

• Delivery of first SADC batch (47 pieces) expected to arrive end of January in Uppsala
• The SADC crate cooling works, pressure drop of the whole system not precisely known (in order to judge whether leakless underpressure system can be realised)
• Discussion where to place the power supply: middle of the backplane board (easier routing) or at the side of the board (connection to side cooling)?
• What size may the power supply have in the end (air coils)?
