General Items

  • Himani Bhatt from India will analyze the benchmark channel psi(4040)->D*D*->K+K+pi+pi-pi+pi- suggested as useful analysis for the Forward Tracking performance studies.
  • Paul Buehler is running on the GRID all the simulation chain and also the analysis macro for the benchmark channel 2(pi+pi-) which is also important for the FT performace studies. When the data will be available, Elisa, should produce some histograms in order to get the first important results on a large amount of statistics.

Analysis reports

  • Elisa shows the resolution studies done for muons at different momentum and different theta angle. The study was done also for the three geometry configuration available (with RICH between FTS5 and FTS6; with RICH after the FTS6; a version where there are not the two chamber inside the dipole). The suggestion is to re-do the study considering only FT in order to isolate the contamination in terms of resolution coming from MVD and GEM. The second suggestion is to run ideal pattern recognition putting 0 as smearing in order to see if the "strange" shape of the curve should change or not.

  • Jacek shows his presentation about occupancy studies. His is also doing some interesting studies about the scattering with the beam pipe that seems to have a large contribution. It is suggested to verify if a cut on the energy lost in each single straw (i.e. eloss > 30 eV) may affect the rates. Moreover, a check w/o pipe is mandatory to understand if the asymmetric rates in the central upper and lower tubes can be explained by secondaries produced by the pipe. Rates with pbar-Ar and pbar-A will be calcualated, simulation files are ready at GSI; it has to be checked the value of luminosity with nuclear targets.

  • Manoj was not able to connect but he posted here (preliminary_sim_ana.pdf) the presentation and he sent an e-mail with some explanation on the work that was done. Everyone can send some comments to his work.
