PANDA Magnets Overview

The two large spectrometer magnets provide the required fields for momentum reconstruction and act as a frame for most of the PANDA detectors. A superconducting solenoid with a free diameter of 1.8m provides a field of 2T (see Solenoid). A large-aperture dipole magnet with 2Tm field integral along the particles' trajectories covers particles emitted below angles of 5 and 10deg, in vertical and horizontal planes, respectively (see Dipole).

Please find the details in our recent Technical Design Report , approved by FAIR Scientific and Technical Issues (STI) working group, May 2009, 119p, arXiv:0907.0169.
